FET to moderate at the 2018 SAE COMVEC

Current Powertrain Committee chair and FET mechanical engineer, Shawn Ray, is moderating a panel discussion in Illinois on Thursday, September 13th at SAE's 2018 Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress, COMVEC.SAE International is a U.S. based and globally established association for engineering professionals and technical experts in various transport sectors. Principal emphasis is placed on standardization and educational efforts and often devotes resources to projects and programs in STEM education, professional certification, and collegiate design competitions. SAE's COMVEC represents the Commercial Vehicle sector and is the premier event for On & OFF road commercial vehicle industries.

Powertrain Committee Expert Panel Discussion: Alternative Fuels and Propulsion Systems – EVs and Hybrids

This panel session brings together experts in the area to discuss recent developments in the application of Alternative Fuels and Propulsion Systems with a look into the technical challenges associated with electric & hybrid commercial vehicles. Fuel costs are an ongoing concern and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions have introduced new challenges. Consequently, Alternative Fuels and Propulsion Systems are ever more important. Establishing a dialogue on the challenges that are faced and opportunities that are present will enhance the technical development in this area.
